Pete Ainger was contacted in late 2013 regarding the water supply at Ewen Fields. Since the Manchester City Elite Development Squad started playing their home games at Ewen Fields the pitch had to be replaced. The new sand based pitch has increased Hyde’s water usage by 50% for irrigation so we looked into ways of reducing this.

Access Utilities decided that a private water supply for the pitch irrigation only, taking them off expensive mains water was the answer and in March 2014 a 60 Metre borehole was drilled and lined. Our contractors located the supply at the rear of the ground and connected up to their current tank and irrigation system.

A fixed price option for Hyde FC was agreed and they have now completed their first 12 months in service. The water quality from a natural source with fewer chemicals has improved the pitch, and the club has saved over £8,000 in the first 12 months switching to Access Utilities.

In addition, Access Utilities assisted the club into looking at historical bills where continual over payments had been made to United Utilities. They are now in the process of claiming a large rebate and reducing on-going charges.
